Home Made Egg noodles recipe

                                    Home Made  Egg noodles recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
  • 2  eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2–4 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon oil

Method:

1. Make the dough:
  • On a clean countertop or in a large bowl, make a well in the Centre of the flour.
  • Crack the eggs into the well. Add salt and oil (if using).
  • Using a fork, gently beat the eggs and slowly incorporate the flour from the sides.
  • Once it becomes too thick to mix with a fork, use your hands to knead it into a dough.
2. Knead until smooth:
  • Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  • If the dough is too dry, add water 1 tablespoon at a time.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth or cling film and let it rest for 30 minutes.
3. Roll out the dough:
  • Divide the dough into two portions (easier to work with).
  • On a floured surface, roll out one portion until it’s about 1–2 mm thick.
  • Dust with flour to prevent sticking.
4. Cut into noodles:
  • Lightly flour the rolled-out sheet, then fold it over 2–3 times like a loose roll.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice into thin strips (about ¼ inch or your preferred width).
  • Unfold the strips and lay them out on a floured surface or tray.
5. Cook the noodles:
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Drop the noodles in and boil for 3–5 minutes, depending on thickness.
  • Drain and use immediately, or toss with a bit of oil if you plan to use them later.
Tips:
  • You can dry the noodles on a rack or tray and store them in an airtight container.
  • Use a pasta machine if you want even thickness and neatness.
  • Add herbs or spices to the dough for extra flavor (e.g., garlic powder, pepper, parsley).
