Easy and Tasty Fish Curry Recipe

                                               Easy and Tasty Fish Curry Recipe 

 

Cook Time: 30 mins

 Serves: 4 to 5

Ingredients:

  • Fish (Vanjaram, Vavval Meen,Ayilai) – 500 grams (cut into medium pieces)
  • Onion – 2 medium (finely chopped)
  • Tomato – 2 medium (pureed or finely chopped)
  • Green chillies – 2 (slit)
  • Tamarind-small lemon size
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1½ tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp (adjust to taste)
  • Coriander powder – 1½ tsp
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves – 8 to 10 (optional but recommended)
  • Fresh coriander – for garnish
  • Salt – to taste
  • Coconut Oil – 3 tbsp
  • Water – as needed


Instructions:

  • Clean the fish and lightly marinate it with a pinch of turmeric and salt. Set aside for 10–15 minutes.
  • Grind coconut and small onions together smoothly in a mixer
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add curry leaves and green chillies.
  • Add the tomatoes, turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt. 
  • And add the mixer paste ie,(coconut and small oinion paste).
  • Add 1 to 1½ cups of water (depending on how much gravy you want). Bring it to a boil.
  • dd 1 to 1½ cups of water and tamarind pulp  (depending on how much gravy you want). Bring it to a boil.
  • Medium flame for20 minutes.
  • Cook until the oil starts separating.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander and turn off the heat.

Serving suggestion:

Serve hot with steamed rice, and chapati for a satisfying meal.
